Barbara J. Patterson

Barbara J. Patterson, 87, of Elk Haven, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Penn Highlands Elk after a brief illness.

She was born on September 14, 1936, in Ridgway, a daughter of the late Henry and Emma Weisenfluh Gardner.

On May 29, 1958, she married the late Charles E. Patterson, who preceded her in death on January 3, 2023.

Barb was a lifelong member of the area and a member of the St. Marys Methodist Church. She was very family oriented and loved to spend time with her family. Barb enjoyed reading and cooking a big meal for her family.

Barb is survived by 6 children: Joyce Fledderman and her husband Peter of St. Marys, Linda Delullo and her husband Richard of St. Marys, Charles Patterson Jr. and his wife Mary of Grove City, Todd Patterson and his wife Laura of Lynchburg, VA, Bonnie Hoffman and her husband Don of Ridgway, and Brent Patterson and his wife Pam of East Aurora, NY, 12 grandchildren; Steven Fledderman, Paul Fledderman, Kristen Uhl, Lindsey Geci, Cecelia Midberry, Charles Patterson III, Clay Patterson, Kate Holloway, Mikah Patterson,  Jenna Hoffman, Hailey Hoffman, and Kaden Hoffman, and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters: Twila Lindgren, Etta Gardner, Marilys Dunton, a brother, Gary (Rosalyn) Garnder, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by the nine sisters: June Luchs, Ruth Anderson, Elsie Anderson, Evelyn Dush, Elaine Duffee, Helen Lindenmuth, Marion Klawuhn, Louella Wriggle, Beverly Johnson, five brothers: Richard, Raymond, Ronald, David, and Larry Gardner and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Barbara J. Patterson will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Marys Methodist Church, 140 N. St. Marys Street, St. Marys, PA 15857, with her son Rev. Charles Patterson Jr. officiating. In Barb's tradition a large meal will be served following the service at Church.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Krise Funeral Home, Ridgway, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Marys Methodist Church, Trinity Methodist Church, a local Public Library, or a charity of your choice.
