Freida K Gardner

Freida K. Gardner, 94, of Montmorenci Road, Ridgway, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Penn Highlands Dubois after a brief illness.

She was born on December 24, 1928, in Ridgway, a daughter of the late Samuel and Virginia Adams Luchs.

On April 2, 1955, she married the late Raymond Gardner.

Freida was a woman of strong faith and always leaned on God to help her raise her family. Her faith and family were always the most important to her.

Freida enjoyed being outside, tending to her garden, growing beautiful flowers, mowing her grass and swinging on her porch. She spent her life dedicated to raising her children and grandchildren. She had a huge heart and loved spending time with her family. She always made sure everyone left her house with a happy heart and full belly. She loved to bake, cook, and do embroidery. She always knew how to put a smile on everyone's face! She was always joyful and she was loved by so many.

She is survived by 6 children: Sharon Barnett and her husband Bill, Rayetta Gardner, Jerry Gardner, Doreen Gardner and her husband Denny, Mike Gardner, and Wendy Mahoney, all of Ridgway,  13 grandchildren; Alan, Christine. Tammy, Tommy, Raymond, Emily, Casey, Sara, Jackie, Marissa, Kylie, Haley, and Nathan, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers: Tilden, Freddy, Lloyd, Danny, and Kenneth Luchs, and 7 sisters: Lola Heatherdale, Dorothy Wurm, Betty Snyder, Ruthie Buerk, Jeanie Huggler, Lorretta Gardner, and Ida Knisley.

A Memorial Service for Frieda K. Gardner will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Hallton Church of Christ Bible Training Center, 657 Evergreen Drive, Ridgway, PA 15853, with Rev. Ron Burkett officiating.

Family and friends will be received at Hallton Church on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the time of Service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ridgway Ambulance.
