Rose M. Emerick, 82, of Ridgway, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Penn Highlands Dubois following a brief illness.

On March 9, 1942, in Beloit, KS, she was born the daughter of the late Frederick H. and Agnes M. Gengler Hennes.

On February 8, 1964, she married Gary D. Emerick who survives.

Rose was a graduate of St. Johns High School and later obtain a business degree in Chicago. She was renowned for her delicious baked goods, often sharing them with family and friends. Rose cherished her time spent reading, sewing, and playing cards with her card clubs. She adored spoiling her grandchildren and took great delight in watching them grow. An avid supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas State, Rose could always be found cheering on her favorite teams during game days. Throughout her career, she worked diligently as a business secretary at Elk Regional Hospital and as a waitress at the Pennsy Restaurant, where she brightened the days of many with her warm smile and kind heart.

In addition to her husband of 60 years, she is survived by 3 daughters; Stacey Grazioli (Ken Krise), Janine Emerick, and Jodi (Jonathan) Updyke, all of Ridgway, 10 grandchildren: Zachary, Claire, Paige, Tye, Conner, Gary, Lidia, Anna, Nyssa, and Jake, and 4 great grandchildren, Everleigh, Waylon, Ella, and Luca. She is also survived by a sister, Mona Hennes of New Jersey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Dean “Beaner” and Dion Emerick, 3 sisters: Peggy Koenigsman, Alberta Hake, and Mary Ellenz, and 4 brothers: Jim, Dick, Bob, and Fred Hennes.

A Funeral Service for Rose M. Emerick will be celebrated on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA 15853, with Fr. Justin Pino officiating.

Burial will follow at Oakmont Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Krise Funeral Home, Ridgway, on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ridgway Public Library.
