Samuel J. Delhunty, 28, of Marienville, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, February 29, 2024.He was born on December 6, 1995, in St. Marys, a son of Joseph and Evelyn Delhunty Kemick, who survive of Ridgway.Samuel was a graduate of Ridgway High School, class of 2014, where he was a standout as an athlete. During his high school career, he was awarded MVP in wrestling and loved playing football. He then went on to serve his country for 5 years in the U.S. Marine Corp, having earned the rank of Sergeant E-5 and where he will be remembered for being a remarkable Marine. Semper Fi.With a huge heart, a willingness to help anyone in need, and a personality that shone through any darkness, Samuel was a kind and wonderful father, brother, son, and grandson who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved son; Ryder Delhunty, two sisters; Elizabeth Kemick of Cleveland, OH, and Claire Kemick of New Orleans, LA, maternal grandparents; James S. Delhunty and his wife Rose of Ridgway, paternal grandfather; Mike Kemick of Bradford and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his beloved partner, Emma Cussins of Marienville, and Emmas parents, Dan Cussins and his wife Andrea of Marienville.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Joan Kemick.A Mass of Christian Burial for Samuel J. Delhunty will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Leo Magnus Church, 111 Depot Street, Ridgway, PA, 15853, with Fr. Justin Pino, Pastor, officiating.Burial will be in St. Leo Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA 15853, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
