Stephen H. Amacher

Stephen H. Amacher, 62, of El Rancho Lane, Ridgway, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

Born on January 7, 1961, Steve was the son of the late George and Joyce Papa Amacher.

On May 24, 1997, he married the love of his life, Tammy "Buffy" Beck.  Together they shared more than 26 years of love and laughter.

Steve was a proud resident of Ridgway, where he graduated from Ridgway High School. He was a member of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church and retired from Ridgway High School after working many years as a teacher's aide.  He believed in the power of knowledge and enjoyed the kids he helped throughout the years.  

He was a member of the Horton Township Sportsmen's Club, Central Fire Company, and the Moose.  Steve was an avid Pitt Panthers fan, and could also be found cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates.  He was fond of his dog, Banjo, and always looked forward to running the clock for the football and basketball games.

Steve was a loving husband to his wife, Tammy "Buffy" Amacher, and a devoted father to his sons, Turner and Cordell Amacher, both of Ridgway. The bond within their family was unbreakable, filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories. 
He is also survived by three siblings; George Amacher, Jr., Terry (Wayne "Bud") Klawuhn, and David (Tracey) Amacher, all of Ridgway, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Steve's life will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church, 5 Clarion Road, Johnsonburg, PA 15845 with Pastor Matthew Williams officiating. 

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Ridgway.

Visitation will be at the Krise Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, from 3:00-7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
