Sylvester Corey, 79, of Brockport, died on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Christ The King Manor.
He was born on January 18, 1945, in Kane, the son of the late Joseph and Edith Farren Corey.
On March 11, 1967, he married Rebecca Shipe, who survives.
Sylvester led a fulfilling life; having worked at the Ridgway Ink Plant and later retiring from GKN in 2010. Notably, he had a profound love for dancing, bowling, and playing softball. Additionally, he found solace in the great outdoors, with hunting and fishing being among his favorite pastimes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Robin Rockey and her husband David of Lock Haven, 4 grandchildren, Samuel and Olivia Rockey, both of Lock Haven, Brielle and Bradleigh Corey, both of Johnsonburg. He is also survived by 3 siblings, Nellie Stritzinger of Maine, Cherie Langston, of Tennessee, and Joseph Corey of Ridgway, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Corey, 9 siblings: Achsa Marie Ford, Areta Morris, Edward Boyer, Anna Prokow, Alberta Bower, John Boyer, Bernard Boyer, Frank Boyer, and Avah Parise.
Funeral Services for Sylvester Corey will be celebrated on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA 15853, with Rev. Robert Ford officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA 15853 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Corey Family Trust , C/O Robin Rockey, 23 Hemlock Drive, Lock Haven, PA 17745,or Christ The King Manor.
